Decompression Traction

Decompression traction is a manual technique which can help alleviate back and/or leg pain associated with low back strains or disc protrusions/ruptures.  This technique is often coupled with manual spinal manipulation and physiotherapy.

We also offers in-office psyiotherapy services, employing various techniques to aide in the healing of soft tissue damage. These techniques work by relaxing & strengthening muscles -   reducing pain, swelling, and inflammation of the tissue(s). Therapies may include:

• Electrical Stimulation: Diodes attached to various 'pain centers' send electrically charged impulses to the muscles, causing them to gently & automatically contract. This forces the muscles to relax and improve circulation, helping to reduce swelling and the pain associated with it.
• Ultrasound: With state of the art ultrasound devices on-site, along with the most up-to-date training, this painless procedure sends sound waves through the body to help reduce pain & swelling in achey joints and muscles. Use of ultrasound technology has also been shown to improve circulation and reduce scarring.
• Ice/Heat Therapy: When applied immediately after an injury, ice is an effective aid in reducing localized pain and inflammation, helping to prevent longterm nerve and muscle damage. After the swelling has subsided, applying moist heat to the injury relaxes the muscles and tissues, improving circulation and healing time.

You will also be provided with stretching exercises and if warranted, postural, core, and strengthening exercises as appropriate.  Our ultimate goal is to improve your movement ability and help keep you active!
